Innovative Clinical Trials Clinic – Cona
In conjunction with the Paediatric Surgery Department, the Medical Genetics Unit is hosting innovative clinical trials of exon-skipping therapy for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Currently two trials ongoing are under way: a phase I/IIa trial of exon 44 skipping, sponsored by the pharmaceutical company Prosensa Therapeutics BV, and a phase III trial of exon-51 skipping, sponsored by Glaxo Smith Kline.
