The Immunogenetics Laboratory provides class I and II HLA (Human Leukocyte Antigen) typing services. Typing is performed using low- and high-resolution molecular biology techniques.

We provide the following services:

• HLA typing to assess genetic predisposition to HLA related diseases
• HLA typing for blood cancer patients and their families to assess their suitability for stem cell/bone marrow transplant
• HLA typing to assess transplant organ suitability

HLA typing is performed on peripheral blood samples

CONFORMITY REPORT FORMS:

• Coeliac disease
• Rheumatological diseases

MEDICAL REPORTS

Reports are issued within 15 working days.

In-patients, day-patients and PAC patients’ reports will be sent directly to the referring physician.

Out-patients’ reports will be delivered as agreed with the referring physician.
